On this auction website, a starting price is listed and you bid against other buyers. You must have an account to bid. To create an account, click LOGIN on the top right hand corner of your screen (desktop) or from the menu in the top left (mobile). You can keep track of your bidding in your account by clicking View Your Bids. When the auction ends on Saturday August 15th at 6 PM PST, the highest bidder wins the auction. If you won an auction, you will be notified via email. You have 7 days to pay for the item after the auction ends. If you do not pay within 7 days, the item will be given to the second highest bidder. Below are details on specific parts of the bidding process. Happy bidding!
How Automatic aka Proxy Bidding Works
To set up automatic bidding on an auction listing, enter the maximum amount you’d like to pay for the item and select Place Automatic Bid. We’ll bid in increments on your behalf to keep you in the lead but only up to your limit.
We’ll let you via email know if someone outbids you and you can decide if you want to increase your maximum limit.
Keep in mind when you’re deciding on the maximum amount you’d like to pay that you’ll need to pay the cost of shipping too. Shipping is calculated during checkout. If you would like to get an estimate for how much shipping for your item will be before bidding, please email us at email@example.com. We'd be happy to calculate the exact shipping cost for you.
Why was I immediately outbid?
If you receive an email that you were outbid immediately after placing a bid, it’s likely that another bidder is using automatic bidding and has a maximum limit higher than yours. You’ll need to increase your maximum limit in order to be the highest bidder.
How Reserve Prices Work
The reserve price is the minimum amount the artist is willing to sell their work for. If the reserve price isn’t met, the item won’t be sold. The exact amount of the reserve price is hidden, but you can see reserve status on the item you're bidding on. If you see the "Reserve Not Met" status under the current price, this means that the current bid is lower than the reserve price and the item will not be sold. Even if you're the highest bidder at the end of the auction, you won’t win the item. When the bidding amount reaches or exceeds the reserve price, the status will change to "Reserve Price Met" and the item will be sold to the highest bidder when the auction ends.
You can view the history of all bids made on an item by clicking # Bid(s) in the top right corner of the bidding window, under the countdown timer. That will open a window that shows all the bids that have been made and their amounts. You can view your own personal bidding history by clicking ACCOUNT in the top right of the screen and then selecting View Your Bids.
How Shipping Works
For all items, local pick-up is available from Downtown Los Angeles. For all items except two, worldwide shipping is available. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout based upon the weight of the item and the zip code it is being shipped to. If you would like to know the shipping cost before bidding on an item, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and provide the destination zip code.
